Two solutions I’m betting on in 2024
I’m driven by two unwavering beliefs:
1. Business, coupled with design, can repair and regenerate the planet while providing opportunities for people to thrive in their daily lives
2. The design industry needs a radical redesign in how we educate designers and how we work as professionals to put climate at the center of our work
How I’m turning these two beliefs into action
1. The Climate Design incubator
- Supporting nascent climate industries
- Takes Project Drawdown’s work to the next level by focusing on prioritized industries that need to be scaled up today
- Working with industry stakeholders and climate experts to develop and promote projects that raises awareness of their industry (Read more about it here)
- Leveraging the Climate Designers network for expert design support
This leads to my second action.
2. Climate Designers
- A global hub for creative professionals committed to climate action (Visit climatedesigners.org)
- Relaunching updated programs, an online community, our main podcast, educational content, events, and more in 2024
- Establishing a sustainable business model with various revenue streams to support offerings and teams (More about this here)
As a strategist, designer, and facilitator working in climate since 2016, I have the skills, knowledge, and connections to lead these projects alongside collaborators who are ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work.
In order for these two projects to gain even more traction, I need your help
I need introductions to funders.
I’m looking for foundations, companies, high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and impact investment firms that align with one or both of these projects.
I’m sharing with the world my need in hopes that you might be able to help.
We have pitch decks for both projects. We’ve crunched the numbers. We have teams. We have next steps. We have ideas ready to get started. We just need funding.
